About Sweet Bee Gardens

Sweet Bee Gardens

Sweet Bee Gardens is a small family farm in Greenup Ky. It is run by Jim and Brenda Fields and their son Shane. Their daughter Shelley, her husband Steve, and their son Drake help periodically when they are in town. Occasionally hired hands are required to help keep up with the growing demand of the farm’s home grown, natural based products. Our desire is to work the farm as naturally as possible and support our community by hiring local people to work and selling our products here in our community.

In the spring of 2015 the farm was certified to sell canned and baked goods, under the stipulation that one or more main ingredients is grown on the farm. We are working hard to grow a variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs so we can continue to offer a variety of healthy, homegrown products for you and your family!

Sweet Bee Gardens is not organic certified at this time due to the cost and process of certification; however, we do not use any herbicides, pesticides, or growth hormones on any produce we sell, including canned and baked goods.

Our farm is only 17 & 1/2 acres, of which only approximately 2 acres is cultivated. So we are not trying to compete with our neighbors and friends who have more property and can produce larger quantities of crops. We are specializing in small amounts of unique crops to sell, that also support our canned and baked goods.

Become part of the Sweet Bee Gardens Hive by emailing us at info@sbgardens.biz to receive news letters and up to date information on what’s new and fresh, and to know when we will be at the farmers market.

We are Certified Kentucky Proud, Appalachian Proud, Farms Are Fun and Home Grown Hero! Jim retired out of the Air Force Reserves, and Shane served in the Navy for 4 years.

We do have Bee hives and are trying to grow that aspect of the garden to help with pollination and support the demand for local, non processed honey. Becoming a Member of the Hive, will give you first notice to when we will have our honey available for sell at the farmers market.
